The seminar will present the experience of Region Friuli Venezia Giulia in the field of regional energy policy and Renewable Energy Communities. It will start from the Regional Energy Plan, focusing on how energy security and energy independence are becoming increasingly relevant for regional planning. It will then explain how an energy community works, including the basic regulatory framework, the role of members, shared energy, and incentive mechanisms.

The seminar will also provide an overview of the current landscape of Renewable Energy Communities in Friuli Venezia Giulia. Finally, it will present the ongoing project of the regional Energy Community, discussing its objectives, governance approach, and the main practical challenges related to implementation.
