Il corso semestrale del primo anno prepara gli studenti nell'affrontare un esame che si basa su cinque aree di linguaggio. 1. capacità nella comprensione e nell'interpretazione del linguaggio scritto. 2. capacità nelle espressioni scritte. 3. capacità nella comprensione della sintassi e della grammatica. 4. capacità nella comprensione del linguaggio parlato. 5. capacità nell'espressione orale. 1.Interpretazione del linguaggio scritto- * introduzione a testi di livello preintermedio come base per comprendere ed interpretare. * tecniche per la comprensione di un testo. * vocabolario specifico riguardante testi, analisi di testi e pratica. 2.Capacità nelle espressioni scritte- Relevant skills and areas, for example: * punctuation * paragraphing and cohesion * organization of information * introduction to simple business documentation and terminology * note-taking * preparation of a curriculum vitae. 3.Comprensione della sintassi e della grammatica- General revision and consolidation through direct method and in translation: * verbs, including present simple, present continuous, past simple, past continuous, present perfect simple, present perfect continuous, future simple and future with present continuous, going to and will; modals; conditional forms; introduction to passive forms; introduction to phrasal verbs. * pronouns, including personal, possessive and relative. * adjectives, including comparative and superlative. * adverbs and quantifiers. * prepositions, time, place and movement. * pronunciation. 4. Capacità nella comprensione del linguaggio parlato- * introduction through tape and video to short listening passages for comprehension and interpretation. 5. Capacità nell'espressione orale- Skills and vocabulary necessary for: * personal identification: describing people, places, events * expressing opinions * giving advice * giving and asking for permission * making requests and offers * narration * conducting simple telephone conversations * negotiation Other areas and materials- Vocabulary building, including the areas of: * food and drink * hotel facilities and terminology * illness * transport and international trade * leisure * careers * language and interpretation of statistics. (Here is envisaged the use of newspaper and magazine articles, audio and video cassettes, TV recordings and language laboratory exercises.) Esercitazioni These will be provided by the CEL (collaboratori ed esperti linguistici) particularly for the grammar and oral sections of the programme. Times of esercitazioni will be found on the notice boards of the Sezione di Lingue Moderne, 5° floor.
